Homeopatiasta ja Terveydestä!

Mielenkiintoinen Faculty of Homeopathyn tutkimus, joka julkaistiin Thieme-lehdessä 15.11.2021 ja on julkaistu myös Pubmedissä, osoitti että homeopaattinen Arnica montana 30CH vähensi huomattavasti kipua koirilla munasarjojen poistoleikkauksen jälkeen. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli analysoida Arnican kivunlievittämisvaikutuksia leikkauksen jälkeen.  Tutkimuksesta uutisoi mm. www.echamp.eu jonka alkuperäinen kirjoitus jäljempänä viitteineen. 

Tutkimukseen valittiin 30 koiraa jotka jaettiin kolmeen ryhmään. Leikkaukset suoritettiin Brasialiassa perinteisin menetelmin, joissa koirat nukutettiin ja ne saivat tavallisen lääkityksen. Operaation jälkeen koirat jaettiin ryhmiin sattumanvaraisesti. Ensimmäinen ryhmä sai Arnica 30CH, toinen ryhmä 5% alkoholiliuosta ja kolmas ryhmä 0.9% keittosuolaliuosta. Kaikki ryhmät saivat koeainetta 4 tippaa kielen alle joka kymmenes minuutti ensimmäisen tunnin ajan kun anestesian hengityslaitteet oli poistettu. 

Glasgowin kipuskaalaa käytettiin analysoimaan vaikutusta. 

Arnicaa saanut ryhmä pysyi kivuttomana 17,8 tuntia +-3,6 tuntia.

Alkoholiliuosta saanut ryhmä 5,1 tuntia +- 1,2 tuntia.

Keittosuolaliuosta saanut ryhmä 4,1 tuntia +- 0,9 tuntia. 

Päätelmänä oli että Arnicaa saanut ryhmä osoitti huomattavaa kivunlievitystä verrokkiryhmiin nähden.

Homeopathic Arnica: effective in humans and animals

Two new studies investigate the effectiveness of homeopathic Arnica montana when used post-operatively in both humans and animals. In both studies, it is shown to be more effective than placebo.

Is homeopathic Arnica effective for postoperative recovery?

Homeopathic Arnica is used in surgery as prevention or treatment for the reduction of pain and other consequences of surgery. This study is a systematic review presenting a metaanalysis of clinical trials to assesses the efficacy of Arnica in reducing the inflammatory response after surgery. It reviews all studies on the use of homeopathic Arnica montana in surgery and includes both randomised and non-randomised studies comparing Arnica to a placebo or to another active comparator. It concluded that Arnica has a small effect over and against placebo, comparable to that of anti-inflammatory substances, in preventing excessive hematoma and other consequences of surgeries.

Postoperative pain relief in female dogs

Ovariohysterectomy (OH) (spaying) is one of the most frequent elective surgical procedures in routine veterinary practice. This study evaluates pain relief with homeopathic Arnica during the postoperative period after elective OH on female dogs. Thirty healthy female dogs who had undergone the surgical procedure were randomly divided into three groups of 10. One group received Arnica montana 30cH; another hydroalcoholic solution; and the third saline solution under blinded conditions. Arnica presented a more significant analgesic effect than the control groups. This study is one of a limited number that look at the action and effects of homeopathic medicines on animals. This is particularly important as the effectiveness is unlikely to be due to the ‘placebo effect’.
